Online gaming started with SOCOM series on the PS2 for me. I've made at least several friends that I still go out party with (and play on Live) to this day. But with the lag, logging on and waiting to join games on SOCOM, it just got worse with their "free" online servers. So, I brought an Xbox and jumped online. Despite the fact that I had to pay $50.00 yearly, the experience was 10x better than Sony's "free" online. Playing Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Halo 2, Burnout, ...

Do you really (and you do deep in your hearts) think that HD-DVD will fade away soon?!! I see that people time and time again (posting these articles every chane you get) endulge in bliss about these sales. Question, why if Blu-Ray sales tearing a new @$$hole in HD-DVD for months now, Hollywood stop distubution of HD-DVD?!! Yes the A2 sold out and pushing to 500,000 players sold. Let me remind you, more DVD players will outsell any game consoles in a matter of months. Funny how people pos...

1.)Toshiba's HD-DVD player surpassed Sony's Blu-Ray player since launch and 1/2 million milestone about to be reached?!

2.) Blu-Ray sold over 2.1 million copies since last year, HD-DVD is slightly half of that number. But "Transformers" sold at least 8-9 million DVD9 copies and Sony won't state the sales records for "Spiderman 3" DVD9?!

3.) You fanboys really riding on the PS3 as the "cheapest" Blu-Ray player for people to buy inste...

It's funny that you say that. Despite the fact that Blu-Ray has more studios, if you go to Circuit City (or Best Buy) they have the equivlent row amount of movies for HD-DVD as to Blu-Ray. Remember this also, 80% of these movies are remakes of older movies in Hi-Def. Face the facts, since HD-DVD died at least 20,000 times on this board..., "IT'S THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD"!!!!! BOOOO!!!!!

Remember, everyone does not play video games, so why buy a PS3 for a Bl...

Didn't people say this about VHS over Betamax years ago?!! And Beta had more movies over VHS!!

This is where it hits the fan! Once prices start to drop, product moves more. Toshiba & HD-DVD are going aginst mulitple opponents of Sony & Blu-Ray. But sooner or later, others will join (like China) with affordable hardware to the public. The question is, can Sony
(Panasonic, Samsung, and others) afford to pricecut their Blu-Ray players?! I'm very interested in Toshiba's HD-DVD burner that records 1080i onto a single layer DVD disc for up to 2hrs.

Sony stating to the world that the PS3 is worth $600.00. But yet they drop the price on it. So Toshiba drops their price and that's being desperate?!

It's kinda funny calling this an act of desperation of a "Dead Format". Yet you fanboys saying 1080i is not "TRUE HD", but all HD broadcast (HBO, Showtime, Fox, NBC, CBS, etc.) are in 1080i. But these 1080i players are sold out everywhere. Another thing is funny that Hollywood dosen't care for a "Video Game Console" numbers for a Hi-Def player. So the PS3 & 360 are worth "Jack Sh1t" as a number. They are game consoles first, then a (optional) movi...

If 1080i is not "True Hi-Def", then we all shoud raise hell to Fox, NBC, CBS, WB, HBO, Showtime, The Movie Channel, Starz, Cinemax, and all other television station providers that broadcast in 1080i. I don't know about you, but MOJO channel and Fox Sunday football in 1080i looks very, very good on my fathers 2001 "Fossil" Rear-Projection 480p/1080i HDTV.

If this "Dead Format Non-True HD" player is not worth purchasing, why is it "SOLD OUT" everywhere.

1. WB has consistently put more support behind HD-DVD than Blu-Ray. Batman Begins and V for Vendetta are perfect examples of titles released on HD-DVD months before Blu-Ray. The Matrix is still ONLY available on HD-DVD because the Blu-Ray player profiles did not have mandatory support the advanced features of PiP (until the firmware update for Blu-Ray )and True HD. These features are mandatory on ALL HD-DVD stand-alone players.

2. Cost of Manufacturing - Blu-Ray yields are bad....

Right now I've been recording "Heroes" 2nd Season in HD (1080i). I have a 56" 1080p Samsung HDTV. And comparing the 1st Season 1080p to my HD-DVR 2nd Season in 1080i, there is a small difference in picture clarity. I'm sorry fanboys, you can rant-n-rave 1080p, True Audio, 100gig, HD-DVD is desperate, Blu-Ray FTW, Blu-Blah-Blu-Blah all day. If this "Dead Format Non-True HD" player is not worth purchasing, why is it "SOLD OUT" almost everywhere. $200 player ...

Wal-Mart, Circuit City (around my area in DC) and Best Buy are out of stock!!

I just went to Wal-Mart website and typed in "HD-DVD" in their search engine. There are no HD-DVD players coming up. Are they out-of stock?!

Why do people keep saying the same thing about 1080p and the PS3?!! I have alot of family and friends that have only 480p/720p/1080i HDTV's. They have no plans to upgrade their TV's to 1080p no time soon. They're happy to see HBO, Showtime, The Movie Channel and other HD channels that produce a good picture at 1080i. And another thing, do you guys think that the whole world plays video games?! So why in God's name someone is going to buy a PS3?!! Are you serious?!!! Like I said before, a ...
